Macitentan (handelsnaam Opsumit) is een endothelinereceptorantagonist (ERA) die is goedgekeurd voor de behandeling van pulmonale arteriële hypertensie (PAH). De andere twee ERA's die vanaf 2014 op de markt worden gebracht, zijn bosentan en ambrisentan. Macitentan is een dubbele ERA, wat betekent dat het werkt als een antagonist van twee endotheline (ET)-receptorsubtypen, ETA en ETB. Macitentan heeft echter een 50-voudig verhoogde selectiviteit voor het ETA-subtype in vergelijking met het ETB-subtype. Het medicijn kreeg op 13 oktober 2013 goedkeuring van de Amerikaanse Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
